The switch is seamless and no downtime in energy service will be experienced.

Make sure to get meter readings on the day of the switch and communicate these to both old and new energy providers so your readings are actual instead of estimated (as these are typically 10% higher than actual readings).

Other than getting the meter readings, you don't even need to be home for the switch to happen. All the work is done by the providers remotely.
